Help My Brother Ashraf Fight Leukemia Blood Cancer

My name is Afsana, and I am writing this to you with a broken heart. My brother, my anchor, Ashraf Mahmud (Bishal), is just 28 years old—and he is fighting for his life. I wake up every morning with a lump in my throat, praying he gets to see one more sunrise. Every breath he takes is a battle, as he fights a deadly form of blood cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), just to see one more sunrise, one more tomorrow.

Losing our parents was the hardest thing we ever went through. Our mother passed away from cancer in 2017, and our father died from a stroke in 2019. It was Ashraf, the only son in our family of four sisters, who picked us up and carried us forward. He quietly endured every hardship and gave all of himself so that we could survive. He was, and always has been, the one who held us together.

Now, he's the one lying in a hospital bed, and we are watching the person we love most slowly slip away.

We were told that without immediate and intensive treatment, he would not survive at his cancer is at high risk (stage). In a desperate race against time, we brought him to Lu Daopei Hospital in China, a world-renowned leukemia center. The doctors there have given us a plan, a lifeline of hope that includes intensive chemotherapy and a crucial bone marrow transplant. But this hope comes at a price we cannot possibly afford.

The total cost for his treatment, as estimated by the doctors at Lu Daopei Hospital, is $300,000 CAD. We have already spent every last penny we had, and this number feels like an impossible wall between my brother and his life.

We’ve already buried both of our parents. We cannot bear the thought of losing our only brother too. We are just four sisters, and we have nothing left but our love and our hope. Please, from one human being to another, we are begging you for help. Your kindness is our only hope.

This isn't just about money. This is about a life. It’s about a family that has already been through so much. It's about my brother who deserves a chance to live. Your donation, no matter how small, is a lifeline. It’s a chance for Ashraf to live. It’s a chance for us to not have to say goodbye.

Please help us bring him home.
