Early Friday Morning the Owners of Art History were unfortunately woken by terrible news that their buisness, that goes way beyond that title was engulfed in flames. Art history has been way more than just a local buisness on Frankford Ave...it has become one of the most popular small buisnesses in the community, actually even worldwide. For those of you that don't know some of the background, Jay started his business in his Mom's basement, he started with one machine and brought his creative ideas to life. Since those hot days of making t-shirts in his Mother's basement of a row home, Art History has come a long way. His unique sense of art and fashion has given him countless experiences that he as well as his employees are extremely grateful for. Celebrities,.professional athlete's, musicians,.designers,.Soliders,.first responders are just some to mention who he has had the pleasure of doing buisness with and getting to know. GWOT ( GLOBAL WAR on TERRORISM) they donated 10,000 to get a memorial built to memorialize the soldiers that died from Pennsylvania in Iraq and Afghanistan, Art history has donated back packs with supplies for children in need, provided internships for young adults. Another way they have given back to community, Jay went to both Roman Catholic High School and Father Judge High School to speak to the students about careers in Art and his experience and how you can achieve great things with not starting from much. I'll be honest they really were reluctant on this idea and sometimes pride can blind us when we need to ask for help from others. This story isn't one for pity but I'm asking for any kind of support in any way would be greatly appreciated and they would be forever grateful. Unfortunately at the time they were figuring out some things and didn't have insurance at this time to recover a great deal that will be damaged as a result of the fire, I want to be upfront and honest. This store is more than a buisness this is their life and livelihood. The Art history community means the world to The Pross family, they genuinely treasure the people who have supported them since day one and the customer's they've had the pleasure of meeting thus far. Today, they were supposed to be celebrating their 11th anniversary and were so excited for the continued support from everyone as well as sharing the new design. Small buisnesses are different,.especially this one they are humble and truly care about their customers so I'm asking if anyone can show some support to the Art History family in any way possible it would be forever appreciated.
