⚖️ Arizona Is Shutting Down Legal Hemp — And Hurting Real People
Help Us Raise $15,000 to Appeal. Needed Immediately.
They Followed the Law. Now They’re Being Punished.
In Arizona, small businesses are being raided and shut down. Not for breaking the law—but for following it.
We’re talking about hemp-derived products that are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. Products that help people drink less, sleep better, manage pain, anxiety, and more—and that are legal in other states across the country.
But Arizona’s Attorney General has launched a dangerous crackdown based on a flawed interpretation of state law. And in the crossfire? Farmers, retailers, wellness brands, veterans, parents, bartenders—and you.
This Is the Real Cost of Government Overreach
Meet: Tina Ullman, founder of Grow Up Co-op and a hemp industry leader, has lost 100% of her hemp-derived business in Arizona due to this legal confusion and targeted enforcement.
“We spent years breaking free from the criminalization of hemp. Now they’re trying to put the plant—and our people—back in chains.” – Tina Ullman
Meet: Dr. Mohammed Lotfy, owner of Wake-N-Bakery in Tempe, off Mill Avenue, lost 99% of his customers and was forced to lay off his staff.
“As an OBGYN in four countries, I follow strict standards for every product we carry. We are now being forced to break federal law just to access federally legal products. That’s madness.” – Dr. Lotfy
These are minority-owned, community-centered businesses, devastated by bad policy and political fear-mongering. And they're not alone.
Law enforcement is confused. Customers are scared. Entire supply chains are being destroyed. And you—the everyday Arizonan—are being denied access to safe, functional wellness products.
We’re Fighting Back — But We Need You
The Hemp Industry Trade Association of Arizona (HITA) filed a lawsuit to stop the AG’s unjust enforcement. We’re defending the law as it was written—and the people who followed it.
On June 25, a Superior Court judge confirmed a major point:
✅ Arizona law does NOT distinguish between “intoxicating” and “non-intoxicating” cannabinoids.
But the judge also denied our injunction—allowing enforcement to continue—for now.
The case is now heading to the Arizona Court of Appeals, and our legal team is preparing an expedited appeal.
Here’s What We Need:
$15,000 immediately to retain our legal team and file the appeal
$45,000 to carry this fight forward through the appeals process—all the way to the Arizona Supreme Court.
If we don’t act now, the AG’s flawed interpretation will become precedent—and an entire industry will collapse.
If We Lose:
Hemp beverages and wellness products will forever disappear from shelves, bars, and restaurants
- Arizona businesses will close and jobs will be lost
- Prices will skyrocket due to limited access
- Consumers will turn to unregulated, unsafe products or back to alcohol and pharmaceuticals
- Arizona becomes a warning, not a leader
If We Win:
- Hemp products stay legal, tested, and safe
- Consumers can enjoy them at bars, restaurants, shops, and wellness centers
- Small businesses, many minority- and women-owned, can grow and hire
- We set a national precedent for smart, fair hemp regulation
- The people—not politics—decide what legal, plant-based wellness looks like
