Sometime in the early morning of 2/29/24 (Leap Day), our sweet little kitty, Aria, was badly injured.
My wife went into the garage, where Aria generally hangs out, and noticed she wasn’t around. This isn’t crazy, as she’s primarily an outdoor kitty, but not the most common time for her to be out.
A little while later, she comes limping in. My wife notices she’s favoring her leg, and when she went to pick her up, blood streams down my wife’s hand.
She, of course, cleans her up and inspects the site, where she found what looked to be a small puncture wound. Naturally, we thought she’d gotten into a scuffle with another cat (or dog), and made a veterinary appointment to get her checked out and patched up.
Come to find out, our sweet little girl was SHOT WITH A PELLET GUN. Her leg is shattered, and will likely need to be amputated if we can’t get the surgery she needs to save her leg.
This is a large, unexpected (and completely unnecessary) expense that we may not be able to fully cover, as the surgery could be exorbitantly expensive.
We are simply asking for a little assistance to offset those costs, and save our girl’s leg.
