Please help our beloved cat Arca get the urgent dental surgery she needs! Severe gingivitis and inflammation of the gums require her teeth to be extracted, costing $1500 for the full procedure (and pet supplies)mainly due to the high cost of anesthesia.  We adopted Arca from the Humane Rescue Alliance in December after she and her pairmate were abandoned in a bathroom in an apartment whose tenant had been suddenly evicted for unknown reasons.  Her age and medical history are also largely unknown, although we believe her to be a former stray, as suggested by the notch in her ear.

If this dental condition is not treated soon, it could worsen and potentially develop into something as serious as cancer. Arca’s inflammation and protruding teeth have also made it increasingly difficult for her to eat. Our cats mean so much to us, and we are very wary of these tragic outcomes, as we love her dearly and as she is one of a bonded pair. I know they could not live happily without each other.  

The surgery will take place on the morning of September 18, 2024 at the Anacira Veterinary center in Manassas, VA.  As I have only part-time income and am living paycheck to paycheck while looking for additional work, I am very overwhelmed by this expense. I would like to emphasize that no contribution is too small and there will be only gratitude for even the humblest of donations.
