My name is Jessica, and it is my hope to raise funds to support the veterinary costs of helping my best friend, Arc (also known fondly as 'Spider-Man'), heal from a terrible injury.

On October 21st, we discovered that Arc had somehow sustained a terrible cut to his back leg—a five-inch-long wound that was one and a half inches deep. The wound was so painful that after being sedated, Arc still wouldn't allow the veterinarian team to stitch him up. Currently, the vets are treating him with wraps, antibiotics, and an array of topical ointments meant to assist the wound in closing on its own. The danger is that the wound came perilously close to Arc's joint, and if infection enters the joint, he will need to be hospitalized.

At this time, the vet has been out to see Arc's progress twice, averaging $500 per visit, and I am maxing out my credit cards. They intend to be back out several more times and haven't ruled out hospitalization.

Arc is a strong, beautiful boy. He survived years on the racetrack, anxiety issues, and has helped me combat my own anxiety longer still. I know that he can make it through this if he is given the chance. All assistance toward his recovery would be so greatly appreciated. Please share our story with all the animal lovers you know.
