Hi there! My name is Hector. I am raising funds for the sweetest, most gentle giant, Apollo. Apollo was adopted from the shelter by myself and my family a couple of days ago. We noticed Apollo would limp on his hind leg after jumping on and off the couch or walking up the stairs. We also noticed he wouldn’t fully stretch out his back hind leg. Shelter staff had not noted this in the few months he spent there.

We took him to the vet as this was not getting better and we were told he has a cruciate ligament tear. This tear is ultimately caused by hip dysplasia which is repaired with TPLO surgery. The total cost of this surgery is anywhere from $5-7 thousand dollars that our family just cannot afford at this time. Unfortunately, if we take him back to the shelter (which we do NOT want to do) they will almost certainly put him on the list to be euthanized. Please help us save this sweet boy!

On 6/23 we had a consultation with Pet Ortho Braces in Scottsdale, and Apollo is a great candidate for an orthopedic brace. This brace would allow him to heal the same as surgery would, for a more affordable price. There are more details in the update below!
