Save Annie's Chickens: Donate for Permit Costs

Hi! My name is Annie Franke and I have had the pleasure of having chickens in my backyard for the last year. We originally got them as a way to help my PTSD, and get me out of the house. They did a marvelous job and have brought a lot of joy into my life, and that of my son and husband, and even the neighbors.

Unfortunately, there was a city ordinance that I was not aware of, and in its strict codes, our yard isn't big enough to house a coop 75 feet from our neighbors. We spoke to city attorneys about getting a waiver from our neighbors and they said it wouldn't work.

Our next and possibly last avenue for keeping the chickens is a Special Use permit. The permit ($220), the certified list of addresses from a title company (upwards of $300), and the certified mail needed to be sent are going to cost us more than we can pay. We are asking anyone that can spare a few dollars to help us keep our chickens. Any extra that isn't used will be spent on the chickens and possibly moving fees if we don't win at city council.
