Hi, I am one of the vets at the RSPCA PNG and I am helping to fundraise for a new xray machine as ours broke recently. Unfortunately, dogs getting run over by cars is a daily occurrence here in Papua New Guinea. If we are lucky we can fix a fracture, or even amputate a leg but still save an animal's life. Other times the injuries are so severe that humane euthanasia is the kindest thing to do. Not having an xray machine is like flying blind and a lot of animals that could be saved are put to sleep or go through unnecessary suffering as we can make the wrong choice.
