Hello! My name is Kimberley. I'm a freshman majoring in Veterinary Sciences. I’m raising funds to take part in Vida’s Summer 2026 Veterinary Program, an incredible volunteer opportunity that allows students like me to make a real difference in the lives of animals and people in underserved communities. Through this program, I’ll help provide free, high-quality spay and neuter clinics to control animal overpopulation in Costa Rica. While also offering education on animal welfare to local residents. Beyond the immediate impact on these communities, this experience will give me invaluable hands-on clinical and surgical training—skills that will shape me into a more compassionate and capable future veterinarian. Every donation, no matter the size, will help me cover travel, supplies, and program costs so I can dedicate my time and effort to helping animals who need it most. Your support means helping both the animals who deserve care and the student striving to provide it.
How the Funds will be used:
Program Fees – Covers participation in Vida’s Veterinary Program, including hands-on clinical training, mentorship from licensed veterinarians, and access to mobile field clinics serving underserved communities.
Travel Costs – Helps pay for round-trip airfare to Costa Rica and local transportation between clinic locations.
Housing & Meals – Supports safe, comfortable accommodations and meals during the program, allowing me to stay focused on helping animals and learning.
Medical & Clinic Supplies – Provides essential materials like anesthesia, sutures, sterilization tools, and medications used in spay/neuter surgeries and animal care.
Protective & Veterinary Equipment – Includes gloves, masks, scrubs, and other protective items to ensure a clean and safe environment for both volunteers and animals.
Community Outreach Materials – Funds educational resources used to teach local communities about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
Emergency & Contingency Fund – Helps cover any unexpected costs such as medical needs, equipment replacement, or travel delays.
