Hi, my name is Michael (Misha) and I am Angela's boyfriend.
Angela is a recent graduate from King's College London where she studied medicine for 6 years. After a long wait to become a doctor, Angela’s day to start working as one was just around the corner.
During her induction week at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital, Angela and I were cycling to the hospital and the bike snapped. Angela fell hard hitting her mouth and face on the road. Fortunately, people were nearby and an ambulance came quickly and we were able to go straight into A&E to be seen by a doctor. Thankfully, all scans came back clear and she had no fractures or internal bleeding, but she unfortunately lost three front teeth. One other tooth came out completely and was reinserted by trauma dentists, however it is still unclear if it will survive or not.
Angela's hopes of starting as a doctor with the momentum and positivity that she wanted were shattered. Angela is still recovering from a torn muscle in her shoulder, severe concussion symptoms and dealing with the permanent change to her teeth.
A denture was made which Angela now wears, giving her smile temporarily back. The long term plan, however, is to give Angela her smile back permanently, and that can be achieved through dental implants.
Unfortunately dental implants are very expensive, with one implant (per tooth) costing between £2,000 - £3,000 (therefore in total £9,000). As such, we are turning to friends family and kind people to help raise money and we are truly grateful for your support and generosity.
