Save Anduin: EMERGENCY Help Needed for Sweet Tabby
Donation protected

Hello everyone,
I apologize for coming out hat in hand, but this is a true emergency.

This morning, we noticed our 8-year-old tabby cat, Anduin, behaving lethargically and struggling to use the litter box. We rushed him to urgent care, expecting a urinary blockage. The veterinarian did an exam and found him to not have a blockage, but did bloodwork and urinalysis, and the results were not what we were expecting or what we wanted to hear.

Anduin’s kidneys are fine; however, his bloodwork indicated elevated liver enzymes and bilirubin, suggesting hepatic lipidosis and potential pancreatitis… the prognosis is very poor without treatment.

We were advised that he urgently needs an ultrasound and overnight hospitalization. However, at $2500 for just the first 24 hours and ultrasound, this isn't something we can afford at this time of month, with rent, plus the $1081 already spent on his diagnosis.
This is me reaching out on my knees and grasping at straws; right now we’ve gone home with an antibiotic injection and meds to attempt to encourage him to eat again. However, if he has no improvement within 48 hours and we cannot hospitalize him, we will have no other choice but to euthanize.
I’m honestly beside myself. He really is the sweetest cat, and this has completely blindsided Ariana and me.

At only 8, we were not at all prepared for this. He deserves a fighting chance, and I’m destroyed that we may have to say goodbye so soon.
Our goal has been set with the expectation of at least one night’s stay, plus potential complications. Any additional funds gathered, if any, will be used to cover either his care or, if the worst should happen, his humane euthanasia.
I appreciate and am forever in your debt. Please help if you can.
