Earlier this year, we came together to help Andrew and Susan Bowman—our clients and dear friends—pay their power bill. Both are elderly and disabled, and at that time they were already struggling, and are currently living out of their car.

Since then, their challenges have grown. Andrew and Susan were evicted from their home, a property they own outright, due to unpaid HOA dues. While the home has significant equity, they cannot access it until the HOA balance of $8,000 is cleared. Until then, they’re unable to step foot back into their own property.

Once the dues are paid and the home is sold, Andrew and Susan will finally have the means to move back to England to live with family and regain stability. In the meantime, they’re stuck in an impossible situation.
