This fundraiser is on behalf a courageous young man who has been such a gift to many people who have had the blessing of meeting Anderson Kaew Tatum.

Despite a challenging start to life, Anderson’s family came to him in Thailand from Chilton County, Alabama. He’s the cherished baby boy who is now a strong 17 year old student at Jemison High, and an enthusiast of art, music, video games, anime, delicious food, and his family.

Jeff and Casey have been amazing parents and are in an unfortunate situation requiring help from their community. A sudden detached retina in Anderson’s good eye is a serious condition threatening his enjoyment of life and ability to work on improving the independence he’s diligently making efforts toward. The cost of this urgent operation will be incredibly expensive; the copay is a huge, daunting amount. We can help alleviate this burden on the Tatum family with generous giving from friends and strangers. I’ve known of Anderson since his photo was shared years ago with many of us as we prayed for Jeff and Casey to pursue his adoption. I’ve seen him face struggles due to his cerebral palsy, fighting to learn how to adapt and grow even when it has been difficult and discouraging. This latest news is very scary and there is no way to recover the sight that he’s lost without this surgery.
