Save An Incredible Small Press

Hey,

My name is Nick, you've might have seen me around Instagram's book community, and I am here today to raise funds for an incredible press being operated by a one of a kind, phenomenal writer and chief editor, Rick Harsch.

Economy being what it is, things are hard going. But readers have to keep reading, and books have to be published.

If you want to know more about corona/samizdat, let's hear it from Rick himself:

"corona/samizdat is a small, non-profit literary press, inaugurated in April 2020, that specializes in inexpensive high-quality pocket books and occasionally larger paperbacks by writers who we feel need publishing. Some have been unlucky, some have been out of print, some are publishing for the first time. Writing now, near the second anniversary of the press, what seems apparent is that there is great hunger for new works, new authors, old works dismissed too early, experiments, and, of course, surprises."

This press gives opportunities to many writers who most likely would not have had those chances through traditionalist routes. The press gives hope. If we are to donate to creative endeavours, this is the perfect example of what we should support. As readers, writers, art lovers and human beings.

I have never done one of these campaigns. I know next to nothing about them, but it only felt right. And it only feels right to keep corona/samizdat around, to keep bringing works the world needs, and to allow writers unknown or forgotten by time a chance to be seen and heard.
