Save an Artist's Studio Space

My best friend, co-worker, and artistic collaborator for almost 20 years recently had an abrupt change in his theatre job. As many know he was a freelance designer on top of his daily job with a theatre company.  Similar to many artists, a full-time job is often a necessity to offset getting to fulfill those other creative projects. He was the go-to person in the costume department as well as  other departments for collaboration, brainstorming, knowledge on how to do...most anything! And for his creativity, talent, hard-work,  compassion, generosity, thoughtfulness, shy, and soft-spoken demeanor....there is no one like him! 
Here's what I would like to do....because we know he would not ask for help himself...
I'd like to return the generosity by making sure the roof stays over his studio work space...where his art is imagined, created, and housed.
When you are a creative person, you can't be bogged down with worry or the creativity will not flow.  
Ideally I want to ensure the workshop rent is paid and  lights stay on for the next couple months to help alleviate the financial  worry. This will allow him to focus on the current projects while planning for the future.
