Hello, my name is Darrell Gay from Altadena, California, and I’m the owner of First To Third baseball training. I am asking for your help to keep our longstanding camp of 12 years alive. Due to the fires in Altadena, politics, and some civil issues, my camp has been denied access to the park grounds for the first time in 12 years to continue. My same birthplace and city that has been ravaged by devastation. In this heartbreaking time, this is not the proper move by the County of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation, but our only hope is to resolve such issues and move forward in the future.
Over the last 13 years, we have served the community of Altadena and surrounding cities with high-quality training, scholarships, mentorship programs, youth advocacy, upcoming coaches, and so much more. We have been forced to find our way to continue through other parks, but the cost is enormous.
I am hoping to raise $6,000 to help cover facility usage. Anything greatly helps us in this time of need. The rebound will be stronger and I look to continue to service the community's youth as I’ve done for 17 years now.
