Hi, my name is Alejandra.

It’s very hard for me to write this, but I do so with faith that there are kind people out there who can help me keep fighting for my life.

Some time ago, I had an accident that led to surgery on the radial nerve and artery in my right hand. Since then, I’ve been diagnosed with a painful and chronic condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I live with constant pain and partial loss of mobility. It is incurable, and I will need physical and neural therapy for the rest of my life.

While trying to adjust to this new life with pain, I began to experience severe heart issues. I was diagnosed with heart disease, including sinus tachycardia and sinus bradycardia, and began a specialized treatment. During a routine carotid Doppler scan, doctors found something unexpected: nodules in my thyroid.

This led to more tests—an ultrasound, a biopsy—and finally, the most feared diagnosis: thyroid cancer.

My oncologist confirmed I urgently need a total thyroidectomy. During additional evaluations, they also found nodules in my breasts. The oncologist has recommended removing at least three of them during the same operation.

After the surgery, I will need to resume physical therapy and, in 5 to 6 months, begin a very expensive and delicate treatment with Radioactive Iodine

All of this has happened in less than a year. I haven’t had time to breathe, or to heal in peace.

I’ve spent everything I had on exams, consultations, and medications. I am exhausted—physically, emotionally, and financially.

Today, I’m asking for your help to:

• Cover my cancer surgery.

• Remove the breast nodules.

• Afford the Radioactive Iodine treatment.

• Continue my physical and neural therapy.

• Keep up with my heart treatment.

• Access post-surgical checkups and tests.

Hola, soy Alejandra.

Es muy difícil para mí escribir esto, pero lo hago con fe en que allá afuera hay personas que pueden ayudarme a seguir luchando por mi vida.

Hace un tiempo sufrí un accidente que me llevó a una cirugía en el nervio radial y la arteria radial de mi mano derecha. Desde entonces, me diagnosticaron una condición dolorosa y crónica llamada Síndrome Doloroso Regional Complejo (SDRC). Vivo con dolor constante y pérdida parcial de movilidad. Es una condición incurable, y necesito terapia física y neural de por vida.

Mientras trataba de adaptarme a esta nueva vida con dolor, comencé a tener problemas cardíacos severos. Me diagnosticaron cardiopatía con taquicardia sinusal y bradicardia sinusal, y empecé un tratamiento especializado. Durante uno de los estudios de rutina (doppler de carótidas), los médicos encontraron algo inesperado: nódulos en mi tiroides.

Esto me llevó a más estudios: ultrasonido, biopsia y finalmente el diagnóstico más temido: cáncer de tiroides.

Mi oncólogo ha confirmado que necesito una cirugía urgente de tiroidectomía total. Durante los estudios adicionales, también se encontraron nódulos en mis senos. El oncólogo ha indicado que al menos tres de esos nódulos deben ser extirpados también en la misma cirugía.

Después de la operación, tendré que retomar mis terapias físicas y, en 5 o 6 meses, iniciar un tratamiento costoso y delicado con Yodo Radioactivo, cuyo precio por dosis es extremadamente alto

Todo esto ha ocurrido en menos de un año. No he tenido tiempo de respirar, ni de sanar en paz.

He gastado todo lo que tenía en estudios, consultas y medicamentos. Estoy agotada, física, emocional y económicamente.

Hoy te pido ayuda para:

• Cubrir mi cirugía oncológica.

• Extirpar los nódulos mamarios.

• Adquirir el tratamiento de Yodo Radioactivo.

• Cubrir mis terapias de recuperación física y neural.

• Seguir mi tratamiento cardíaco.

• Acceder a los estudios y controles postoperatorios.
