Support Al Maktoum Mosque — A Lifeline for Our Community

Since its founding in 2013, Al Maktoum Mosque has been more than a place of worship. It has been a beacon of faith, unity, and hope for Muslims in Scotland — especially international students, new arrivals, and local families seeking spiritual connection, education, and support.

For over a decade, the mosque was lovingly sustained by a generous benefactor. But with the original founding organisation now dissolved and no funding received in over a year, the mosque is facing imminent closure.

If we don’t raise £15,000 within the next few weeks, we risk losing this vital institution — even temporarily — at a time when our community needs it the most.

What’s at Stake:

A welcoming space for Friday prayers, Qur’an classes, and community iftars

A bridge connecting diverse Muslim communities from around the world

A key centre for interfaith outreach with our non-Muslim neighbours

A sanctuary for students, refugees, and young families in spiritual and emotional need

This is more than just a building. It is a home, a support network, and a symbol of unity. Its closure would leave a painful gap that many in our community may never recover from.
