Save Akira: Support His Medical Crisis Fund
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out for help with our beloved family cat, Akira. He’s a soft, gentle Russian Blue who loves quietly but deeply. Our family needs him.
Friday night into Saturday (April 25-26, 2025), Akira stopped eating, stopped moving, and began hiding in corners. I always heard stories about cats hiding when they are near death; I didn’t want it to be him. By Saturday, we realized he hadn’t peed in over 24 hours — something extremely dangerous for cats, especially male cats. Urethral obstruction can cause toxins to build up and travel back to the kidneys, leading to severe organ damage, heart complications, and even death.
Early Sunday morning, we rushed Akira to emergency care. The vets told us he was in critical condition. His potassium levels were dangerously high, and he was at risk of cardiac arrest. They had to sedate him, insert a catheter to help him urinate, hook him up to IV fluids, and start treatment immediately. Akira is currently hospitalized.
The vet bills for Akira's treatment and recovery are overwhelming — totaling $4,000. We are doing everything we can to save him, but we need help. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference in giving Akira a chance to heal.
Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping.
