Help Save AJ the Corgi

Donation protected
On the evening of March 12th 2019 AJ had a large mass in his spleen suddenly burst that unknowingly existed, he showed no signs of pain or discomfort other than becoming lethargic throughout the evening, which I suspected was just a sleepy pup.
The next morning when AJ refused to eat is when we knew we needed to take action and fast, our boy never misses a meal. It was also at this time that we noticed his gums beginning to fade from a healthy pink, to a dull flesh tone.

After having X-Rays and blood work done by AJs primary veterinarian, we discovered the mass and his rapid drop in red blood cell count (down to 27% cell count) I was instructed to immediately take him to the emergency room for further examination.

After some time in the ER the doctors informed us that the mass on/in AJs spleen had infact ruptured and was life threatening if not taken care of immediately, all the while his cell count continued downward (now at 24%) with high hopes of a swift recovery we gave the green light to follow through with surgery.

Fast forward to this morning (March 14th) AJs surgery was successful, the spleen was removed and the mass has since been sent for a biopsy, at the same time deeming the rest of his body mass/growth free. While this is absolutely great news, AJs blood cell count remains dangerously low after dropping yet again to just 19% (which means he is a mere 4% away from requiring a full blood transfusion)

As more time passes the likelihood of AJ needing the blood transfusion is becoming greater and greater. We adopted AJ from a neglectful home 3 years ago when he was 5 years old and have strived to provide him with the best life we possibly can.

We have done our absolute best to cover what we can up to this point, but unfortunately with AJ remaining in the hospital overnight again as we pray his cell counts rise, it is more than likely this situation is going to crush us financially, so we are here today asking for your help in saving our sweet boy.

Please hug your furry friends close, for you are all they have in this world. Thank You.
