Save Air3 Radio

University of Stirling's Air3Radio is the first student radio station in Scotland, and have been broadcasting since the 1970s. The academic year 2023/24 was a resurgence for us, we made a lot of changes and put our all into making the station a creative space for aspiring presenters, producers and overall chatty people to flourish. We ended up winning a huge award at the Student Radio Association's Amplify awards (The Gold Amplify Award) which brought to light our exemplary efforts in battling challenges whilst having fun and broadcasting. Unfortunately, we now need your help to ensure we can continue to run as a station.

We currently receive no money from the student union and will have to rely on membership fees and applying for grants, which both are not guaranteed to bring money in. It's very costly to run a radio station, even at the most basic level, and running events like our frequency fundraiser even cost money to run. We would use any donations to pay for our radio.co system, our copyright license to be able to play music, or any of our subscriptions for spotify, mix cloud and the SRA.

Thanks to selling a couple of pieces of old equipment for the studio, we were able to pay for a website subscription that was much cheaper than our old provider, but we may struggle to continue broadcasting this year due to our financial issues. Currently we are having to go to these extreme lengths to get by. We would appreciate any help or support possible to continue the radio station.
