Save Agatha: A Beloved Cat in Crisis
Donation protected
I'm Debi Green, 70+ on SSI. Just paid my rent and bills; I live very modestly. The only credit card I have is Care Credit, and I just almost maxed it out for Agatha Marie. $99 left, and I know from past experience I'm going to need much more to save her. She is having some kind of bladder thing. We've been at Dove Lewis Emergency Veterinary Hospital most of Saturday night and all day yesterday, $577 and some change. They said she needs more testing, and I didn't have enough left on my card. I only use this card for my pets. I've lost my two oldest cats, 19 and 17 years in the last two and a half years and have been making payments regularly trying to keep up. I now have an urgent care appointment at Oregon Humane Society Community Hospital tomorrow at 9:30 AM. I had to put a $125 deposit that will also go to her bill. So, I only have $99 left on my card. I'm low income and receive help on my Medicare and food stamps. I got her a year and a half ago from a lady that found her and put her on the Nextdoor site. She is a wonderful little gal, usually very zippity do da until Saturday afternoon. Anyone that has a cat knows that bladder issues can be deadly. She is a sweet little cat. I'm so attached, so is my grandson Easton, and my little old rescue dog, The Tinker. This is a devastating turn of events. I took care of a large colony of feral cats in Portland Oregon when I was working. Thanks to Multnomah county animal control, and the Feral Cat Coalition for spaying and neutering. I happy to say the colony is extinct now. It was there for a hundred years. Iwent and fed and watered every day of. When they were sick or injured, Itrapped them and thanks to Dove Lewis they were humanely euthanized. That was the first time any of them were held by someone who loved them. If anyone can help us at all, everything will go to her care, and no matter what happens, the rest will go entirely to the Oregon Humane Society Community Hospital, so that someone else's pet can have a chance. I'm not very good at writing things, so they enhanced my wording. She deserves a chance! Thank you to anyone who reads and understands, even if they are unable to help, and thank you to anyone who can help. 5.6.25 update on Agatha Marie. She's been at the hospital all day. They've had her on IV antibiotics drip all day. Not sure if she will be coming home tonight. I'm trying to be positive. Thank you for the help.
