Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Centre Community Support Fund

**UPDATE — Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Centre is open and saving lives**

Thanks to the extraordinary kindness of the public, Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Centre is still open and treating South Australia's wildlife every single day.

The SA Government has committed to funding our operational costs for four years starting mid-2025. This has made an enormous difference to our ability to plan, operate and care for the animals that need us.

We still need community support to upgrade equipment, purchase medications and fund consumables but because of you, we are still here.

January 2025 was one of the hardest periods in our history. The carers who rely on us, the public who needed somewhere to bring injured wildlife, and our dedicated staff and volunteers all faced an incredibly uncertain time. We will not forget it.

We could not have come through without the generosity and compassion of this community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

South Australia's first dedicated wildlife veterinary clinic is operating five days a week, treating koalas, possums, birds and native animals at no cost to the public.

The Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre is on the brink of closure. Without urgent funding it could shut down by the end of the year. We need your help!

Nearly 14,000 native animals have been treated at the Centre. It provides a critical resource for South Australia, providing free veterinary care and rehabilitation services to injured, ill and orphaned wildlife.

Unfortunately it is no longer able to operate at full capacity and may not be able to operate at all in the near future. This means a significant reduction in the number of SA's koalas and native wildlife that can receive vet treatment- a devastating outcome.

Unless we can raise critical funds, this important service will be unable to see out 2025. Funds raised will go directly to ensuring it can continue to provide free veterinary care and rehabilitation services for South Australia's koalas and native wildlife, and will support ongoing care for wildlife.

The Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Centre is a cornerstone of wildlife vet care in the state, and it is imperative that the Centre is supported so that it can continue to provide these crucial vet services.
