Help Ace for Surgery Costs
Updates:
Meet Ace, a 9-month-old German Shepherd puppy when we started this fundraiser. Ace is now 19 months and has already stolen the hearts of everyone who meets him. His playful antics and unwavering loyalty has brought us so much joy. Unfortunately now, Ace is facing a critical moment in his young life. He has been diagnosed ME a condition that requires surgery. In this type of situations, that without immediate vet care and the many routines keep the regurgitation down, your only choice to either relieve your pet's suffering by euthanasia or do your research, reach out to groups and find a vet that has felt with this condition, so we have done our research to keep Ace healthy and up to date with medical visits. Though we are told Ace’s future is uncertain but with your help we can get him the surgery needed
The Situation:
Ace has been diagnosed with a megaesophagus vascular ring anomaly that causes a persistent right aortic arch with diverticulitis. These conditions severely affect his ability to move food to his stomach, causing food to accumulate in his esophagus. Over time, this has led to chronic regurgitation, malnutrition, and significant discomfort for Ace.
Why Ace Needs Surgery:
The vascular ring anomaly is a congenital malformation of the great vessels associated with the heart and its branches. This anomaly has caused esophageal constriction causing a persistent right aortic arch that holds food in Ace's esophagus (it's like a pouch of food just sitting next to his heart weighing down his esophagus) this is a congenital defect leading to his severe megaesophagus. The surgery Ace needs will involve going through his chest removing this constriction and correcting the structure of his esophagus, allowing regurgitation to become less frequent and food to better get to his stomach so his body conditions can improve. If we don't have the surgery, Ace’s condition will continue to deteriorate, leading to life-threatening complications the worst being aspiration pneumonia due to regurgitation and if not caught in time, we'll kill him.
Why This Matters:
Ace is not just a pet—he is a beloved member of our family. Despite his struggles, he remains a loving, playful puppy who deserves the chance to live a full and healthy life and we are making sure he can accomplish that!
I love my animals & they mean the world to me... but being a single mom and Fur mom sometimes we just don't have the resources or funds to pay for a much needed surgery so we have to reach out for any help we can get! We love Ace with all are hearts and I see it in his eyes. He is a survivor we just need help!
I have low lowered the goal as I purchase pet back in Sept.
We are asking for everyone's help, to please share and no donation is to small.. every little bit gets Ace towards his goal for surgery to correct his esophagus to provide the food and nutritions he needs to flourish back into a healthy puppy.
How Your Donation Will Be Used:
• SurgeryCosts: The majority of the funds will go towards the surgery to correct Ace’s condition.
• Post-Operative Care: Ace will need medications, follow-up visits, and possibly additional treatments to ensure a successful recovery.
• Rehabilitation: After surgery, Ace will require special care and therapy to help him regain his strength and learn to eat properly.
The Urgency:
With many vets and research we have learn this can be manageable but it still puts ace in the situation of regurgitation which could lead to aspiration pneumonia that if is not caught in time could kill him, so correcting the anomaly will help with this though. Ace will still have to be fed up right due to the time that has passed on learning all this information due to vets not having much knowledge on mega esophagus that his esophagus will not be able to be reconstructed. he will always have that pouch and will always have to be fed up right.
I did purchase dog insurance through AKC as they are the only insurance that I have located that will help cover pre-existing conditions after 365 days!
Every Contribution Counts:
Whether you can give $5 or $500, every donation makes a difference. If you’re unable to contribute financially, you can still help by sharing Ace’s story with your friends, family, and social networks. Together, we can give Ace the chance he deserves.
