"Save A Soul": Help Save the Life of Our Friend and Classmate

Life is not always fair to every one. I never thought that I would be starting this fundraiser for a young intelligent guy from DG khan who inspired us with his brilliance and passion on day one of our MBBS some 21 years ago.

He is only 38 years old, father of little twin boys just one year old, and the only breadwinner for a large family of more than 10 people. Today, he is bedridden in a hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan, unable to work, and struggling with a series of devastating medical problems.

He was born with only one kidney, and now that kidney has failed. He is on dialysis and will eventually need a transplant.

His suffering was made worse by a rare, life-threatening fungal infection (Mucormycosis) involving his jaw, which requires urgent treatment.

His doctors have prescribed a special antifungal medicine (Isavuconazole), costing Rs. 66,000 per week. The full course alone will cost around Rs. 800,000.

In addition, his family needs at least Rs.80,000 to 90,000 per month just to survive.

He would ultimately need kidney transplant once he fully recovers from this lethal infection.

Overall, the estimated cost of his anti fungal treatment, renal transplant and family support is about Rs. 5.8 to 6 million (20,000 usd)

This is not just a medical battle—it is a fight for his life, his dignity, and the future of his little children.

We remember him as the bright young man who sat beside us in medical school, full of energy, passion, and dreams. Today, he lies in bed, weak and in pain, while his family struggles to keep going with almost no resources.

We, his classmates—including Dr. Aaisha Saqib from the UK—have started this fundraiser to help him through this unimaginable crisis.
