I'm a established female business owner with decades of insight who has been in the health and beauty industry for over 40 years. I have worked my whole life to establish a reputation within the industry, working with doctors, writing curriculum, and educating students who are developing their careers within the industry. I have written over 1500 hours of educational material for the State of California and taught students. My first spa was designed in 2001, with the opening day on 9/11. This was supposed to be a celebration day, but it was a devastating day, and it was one of the worst days in American history. We pressed on and tried to make a go of it even with the sad state of events happening.

I made it through that and survived the financial crisis in 2007, eventually selling the spa that I put all my heart, soul, and hard-earned money into. Opening up the next spa was in 2012 after being in the corporate world of beauty education for a few years and doing treatments on weekends at various locations to keep up all my skills. The spa opened in 2012, and the idea was to have a relaxing and peaceful vibe, offering treatments to individuals, couples, and small spa parties for special occasions at an affordable price. Each room in the boutique spa has a different theme, such as Mermaid Aqua and Hollywood Glam. I built this boutique spa again from the bottom up, developed our own cosmetic line, and did shows and events throughout California. Everything was going along okay, and then the COVID pandemic hit.

The State of California did a mandatory shutdown of all personal services businesses, and we were closed down and shuttered for over 6 months. The product line I developed had to just sit on the shelf and wait, and then the expiration date of products ran out. I had to take out loans just to pay the rent, and our commercial landlord did absolutely nothing for us. We had to take out loans to stay in business and pay rent when no one was even there! Another devastating event in the country and in my personal and business life. I took out an SBA loan, and they started charging an exorbitant amount of interest. On top of that, after being a loyal tenant in this commercial space for over 13 years, this Landlord did absolutely nothing, and we came to find out later, that we did not need to take out loans to pay them rent while an emergency pandemic was in effect. Now, I'm in jeopardy of losing the spa that everyone loves and finds comfort in visiting, and filing bankruptcy. I just had to put up the title of my car just to get a small loan. This is a devastating blow to myself and the business. I have spent my whole career assisting young teens with extreme acne issues, giving their self-confidence back and curing their skin. Along with that, I have donated over many years to Make-A-Wish Foundation, battered women's shelters, homeless shelters, cancer charities, Taylor Family Foundation, animal rescues, and various other charities for over 26 years with large silent auction items, grooming items for the homeless, and donating services for fundraising. Now, with some embarrassment and being a bit prideful, I'm in need of assistance. I'm a couple of years away from retiring, and I don't want to go out with a legacy of having everything I've worked for and all personal items being taken away and sold at auctions or ending a long career this way. This is my last hope for saving the "Hidden Gem" that has been written up in magazines and publications online. I need to jumpstart this business, get the product marketed that is just sitting, and have the spa thrive again, or the creditors coming in and taking everything, please assist in not letting that happen.
