Greetings,

We are a Mental health based football team based in south Lanarkshire.

Carstairs thistle was founded by Emma Darby with the soul purpose of helping men’s mental health and overall wellbeing in the area after lockdown and to give a small group of guys a purpose. What started off as a community project soon turned into a much bigger thing as we very quickly became known and had a lot of men coming from all over Lanarkshire and local care homes to train with this team and get involved in the movement, a lot of the guys can comfortably say since joining this team we have improved their mental health and also helped where we can with personal disabilities and anything else we could.

We continue to spread the word of men’s mental health and stigmas surrounding it.

Unfortunately, running this team has not been a easy nor cheap task to do and after pushing through for three years we have eventually came to a hault with no money to push forward with the team and get involved in football leagues/games the team is not able to carry on.

if it is possible, we would be most grateful to anyone who is willing to spare any amount to hopefully see this mental health movement thrive once more.
