Support Save A Kitty

Hi, this is Debbie Eskow CEO and founder of Save A Kitty, Inc a 501(c)(3) cat rescue and Sanctuary that is home to over 80 cats. We are a no kill, free roaming cat Sanctuary in a very undeserved area of Los Angeles County.

Regrettably, we have never been in such a precarious situation, and are wondering how we can continue.

Most of our kitties were rescued from abuse and or abandonment ....they found safety, medical treatment, and a place to call home! The Sanctuary is a refuge and safe haven for these otherwise homeless deserving cats.

The Save A Kitty Sanctuary is a last hope for so many kitties. Our Sanctuary is one of only a handful of licensed facilities in LA County which has the capabilities to provide lifetime care for these unwanted cats.

Most of our kitties are seniors, many are FIV+, some are physically handicapped and have other conditions, including Hydrocephalus, FELV, and other ailments requiring prescription foods. All (bar a few) were found suffering on the streets, struggling to survive in terrible condition. Some we took in from other rescues who couldn't facilitate their needs. We also have some senior cats whose owners died and no other person or rescue would take them.

We have kitties no one wants to adopt!...either because of their age or ailments..the Sanctuary is home to them. It is their second chance, their last chance....it is their safe haven, where they receive love, comfort, and the care they need.

But we are facing obstacles now that are threatening our ability to provide for these cats!.

We continue to post fundraisers and are so grateful to our faithful supporters....but running a Sanctuary with so many little lives to look after costs more than we are currently raising. We need to raise more money to continue ....in plain simple terms...our bank account is zero!. The donations we do get help, but quite frankly aren't enough. Every day is a daunting challenge. We for sure can't take in anymore cats at this time. We are having to postpone vet appointments.

Although we have our beautiful Sanctuary....we don't have government or big corporations sponsoring us!. Unlike a lot of other rescues asking for support, no one in our organization takes a salary! Tax returns are public knowledge for charities! Please compare our income to other sanctuaries. We are, and have been, running on fumes this past couple of years and right now the struggle is DIRE. We have so many cats depending on us!

We desperately need your help to continue caring for these cats. Food, litter, and veterinary expenses for so many cats is a huge expense, yet alone other expenses (i.e. janitorial, and exorbitant heating and air conditioning bills, etc.). So much is needed to keep the Sanctuary running and our cats healthy. Please help our kitties stay in their home.

Any amount is greatly appreciated and brings us closer to our goal. Donations are tax deductible.
