Save a Historic House with Courtney and Matt

Hi! We are Courtney + Matt and we are trying to save a Historic Home from ruin. We are the couple behind a fun TikTok channel called @Living_In_History where we talk about our journey with this house - and the fun we have had finding secret rooms and hundreds upon hundreds of antiques in the walls, the basement, and every corner of the house.

In 2022 we purchased a Historic Home that was built in 1893. It's a beautiful house, and we fell in love with how much of the home was left in original condition.

We FINALLY have our permits, but are stuck in a situation where cash flow to finish the project has essentially disappeared, or is already committed to plumbing, electrical, HVAC or other necessary updates for safety. We can limp along to some degree, but the main concern is that we are required to replace our roof by the end of 2023, or we lose our homeowners insurance. If we lose our insurance - we will be forced to sell. We had hoped to tarp a couple of the worse areas to buy us time through the upcoming rains - but our insurance has forced us to speed up the roof replacement - and we lack the cash to make it happen.
