The year? 2024
The place? A very busy city intersection
The protagonist? A fiery little cinnamon roll named Karlach, who desperately needs our help.
Found flopping around like an eel in the middle of a hot and busy city intersection, we believe this bundle of adorable was hit by a car and left for dead. Her fierce spirit refuses to go quietly or go at all. Despite the immense trauma she's undergone, she remains a sweet, trusting soul who wants nothing more than some turkey and really good chin scratchies.
She was found covered in fleas without a collar or microchip and is estimated to be between 1 and 3 years old.
Act I, the damage:
Her pelvis is fractured in 3 places and her right femur is dislocated, requiring intensive surgery for repair. Combined with minor internal bleeding, hookworms, and an infection, her vet bills are quickly mounting. She is on a dewormer, antibiotics, and three different pain medications.
Act II, the fighter:
Named after a fierce warrior, this little pup has demonstrated an incredible will and fight to live. Despite her backend being near-complete trash, she still fights to sit and stand on her own. Her interest in food and water continues to grow. And I have never been so happy to be peed on in my entire life. She is tired, scared, and lost, but she will snuggle in your arms and look up at you like you are the only sun in her life.
Karlach has found her forever home if her original family cannot be located. Her new home includes two 70# dogs who refuse to leave her kennel's side.
Act III, the plan:
Karlach has her official surgery consult on Friday, 8/9, with surgery the following week. The current estimate from the surgeon, based on her x-rays, is $6-7k and does not include her follow-up care. She also needs to be spayed and chipped.
A loving family member has generously offered to cover 50% of her vet bills, so we are humbly asking for assistance covering the other half.
This incredibly sweet little girl doesn't deserve to have her life come to an end simply because the bills are stacking up. She has a care team; she has a home; now, she needs funding.
She's not ready to give up, and neither are we.
