There is a boy in our lives who is very close to our hearts that is going through a very hard time. He discovered drugs and alcohol to help numb the pain in his life and temporarily ease anxiety. The problem now is he is caught in the cycle of addiction. This has been ongoing for close to a year now. He is only 14 years old and the way these substances are affecting him is causing him to continually get worse and worse at home and at school.

He is in therapy and is seeing a psychiatrist. He has been diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, and anxiety, and the family, with the help of medical professionals, has been actively trying to help all the areas in which these issues may have stemmed from. The family has run out of options because he needs a drastic treatment plan that takes him away from his environment, continues to support his therapeutic healing, mentors his character through spiritual guidance and teaching, and hard work and discipline. There are no options in the area of Massachusetts for kids his age and none that would be covered substantially by insurance.

The family has spoken to dozens of resources, including the state and DCF and his medical team, and they have found a few Teen Challenge Centers that will take him that specifically deal with the aspects mentioned above. There are three in particular that have openings right now, and one of them includes job and technical training. The family is hoping to get him a spot there in October, but they only have one available and then the wait is until January.

The stay is an average of 9 to 18 months depending on the progress of the person. The cost is $4800 per month for the first 3 months, and then it goes to $4300 per month, and that is including a scholarship.

The family needs $9600 by October to enroll him. We are looking to get at least 6 months covered, which is a total of $27,000. Both one-time donations and monthly donations are appreciated. We appreciate any help as well as prayer.

Here are the links to the three places where we are trying to enroll him.
