For seven years, 5 Points Art Gallery + Studios has been more than just a building in Milwaukee’s Harambee neighborhood. It is a home, a platform, and a lifeline for artists locally and globally. We’ve provided affordable housing for artists, hosted exhibitions that sparked dialogue, offered residencies that launched careers, and welcomed the community into an inclusive cultural hub.
Now, this legacy is under threat.
On December 1, 2025, a $260,000 balloon payment is due. Without it, 5 Points will face foreclosure, and Milwaukee risks losing one of its last independent spaces dedicated to accessible, community-driven art.
This isn’t just about saving a building, it’s about preserving culture, creativity, and a sanctuary where artists and neighbors can thrive together.
Why 5 Points Matters:
- Affordable Artist Housing: Providing safe, sustainable spaces for creatives in a city where affordability is rare.
- Groundbreaking Exhibitions: Showcasing BIPOC, emerging, and international artists.
- Residencies + Workshops: Equipping artists with tools to grow, while engaging youth and community members.
- Community Advocacy: Standing as a bulwark against displacement and cultural erasure.
How Funds Will Be Used:
- $260,000 Balloon Payment: To secure ownership of the gallery and prevent foreclosure.
- Sustainability Investments: Ensuring future programming, exhibitions, and housing remain intact.
How You Can Help:
- Donate today: Any amount helps. $20, $50, $100, $1,000... every gift pushes us closer.
- Share this campaign: Spread the word on social media, email, or text.
- Join us at the Save the Gallery! Art + Music Festival (Sept. 27): Where art, music, and community will gather to rally support.
Together, we can ensure that Milwaukee doesn’t lose this vital space. Together, we can say loudly: Art belongs here. Artists belong here. Community belongs here.
