On November 9th, 2015, my niece, Savannah Lehman suffered numerous blood clots which resulted in a cardiac arrest and two emergency surgeries to save her life.  Savannah has a Diffuse Anoxic Brain Injury and it may take months to years to recover from this, but a full recovery is possible and we are praying and fighting for Savannah.  

This amazing young woman is a fighter, but the road may be longer than we had hoped.   My sister and her husband, Michele and Kevin Lehman, have been at the hospital by Savannah's side through this ordeal and will continue to do so as long as it takes.  This is a heartbreaking and difficult time for this whole family, but in addition to the emotional toll that this event has had on all of us is the inevitable financial toll that this will place on the Lehman family.  Hopefully, most of the medical expenses will be covered by insurance, but Savannah's condition requires around the clock care and will most likely continue to do so into the near future.  Both Kevin and Michele work to provide for their family, but in order to care for Savannah, one of them is going to have to take a leave from their job and that will result in a substantial loss of income for the Lehman family.  Savannah has 4 siblings, Doug, Brooke, Morgan and Nolan, who are all still in school and living at home.

I am writing this and setting up this page today because I am hoping that maybe together we can make a difference for Savannah's family.  If my sister and her husband have just one less thing to worry about, maybe that will help make this tremendously difficult time just a little bit easier.   And maybe, since my sister has been an angel for so many other people throughout her life, we can take care of her and her family now.   

Please keep praying for Savannah and sending your love no matter what, because that is what we need the most.  She is a beautiful young woman and has so much to offer the world.  We are blessed to know her.
