Savannah's NICU Journey: Support a Tiny Fighter

Dear Friends and Family,

On Thursday, June 20, 2025, our brave, pregnant daughter, McKenna, experienced a terrifying medical emergency. She began to have severe cramping and bleeding, necessitating her life-flight to Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. There, she was diagnosed with a placental abruption, which required an immediate emergency C-section performed under general anesthesia. McKenna also needed a blood transfusion.

The doctor who saved her and baby Savannah mentioned it was very lucky she didn't start bleeding on the flight or they could have both been lost!

We are incredibly relieved to share that both McKenna and her beautiful baby girl, Savannah, are now stable. Born at 30 weeks and weighing only 3 pounds, little Savannah faces a long and delicate road ahead in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Intermountain Valley Hospital, where she is expected to remain for at least six weeks.

This has been an overwhelming time for our family – emotionally, physically, and financially. While McKenna and Colton have health insurance, the out-of-pocket costs are adding up quickly. These include expenses for NICU care, time off work, travel, and the everyday necessities of being constantly by Savannah's side.

We are reaching out to our community to humbly ask for your support. No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a significant difference. Your kindness will help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance, which include:

  • Travel and parking to and from the hospital
  • Lodging and meals while staying near the NICU
  • Baby essentials for Savannah's eventual homecoming
  • Peace of mind for a mom who wants nothing more than to focus on her daughter’s healing

If you are unable to donate right now, simply sharing this page with others would mean the world to us. And most of all, please keep Savannah in your thoughts as she grows stronger each day.

Thank you for being a part of this challenging journey with us.

With gratitude,

On Behalf of McKenna, Colton, and baby Savannah Anderson
