Tough spot in Savannah's liver disease journey

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help during the hardest time of our lives. My beautiful daughter, Savannah, is battling a serious liver disease, and we are now back to square one. After a possible misdiagnosis as a baby, a failed recent surgery, and her heath declining rapidly, we are spending every day in the hospital, unsure of what the future holds. Savannah is in constant pain, maxed out on pain medications, and it's breaking my heart to see her suffer, unable to do anything to help.

The costs of being here are overwhelming as a mum doing it all on her own. Between hospital stays, travel, food, and caring for my other two children, Lara (9) and Saxon (5), I am struggling to make ends meet. We have no family or close friends nearby to lean on. My other two little ones are with me in the hospital room during the day missing out on school back home as I have no one there to take care of them. We have to leave Savannah overnight because siblings aren’t allowed to stay. Every night I feel torn, scared to leave Savannah, who is growing more traumatised by procudures and tests and everything that comes with being a patient in hospital, but with no other choice.

On top of that, we no longer have reliable car transportation of our own. Leaving me with a rental car for the 3.5-hour trip to the hospital in Melbourne this is currently covered but only until the start of November. This has added even more strain to an already impossible situation.

My family’s home life has also been turned upside down. Our pets, who bring us comfort, need more care than I can give them right now, and I would love to hire someone to look after them properly rather than just being fed. Lara and Saxon are missing school and preschool, and it's not fair to them. They deserve some normalcy, and I’m hoping to find someone who can help with their care as well while we are in here.

I am completely exhausted, emotionally and physically and financially, and the weight of all this is more than I can bear on my own. I am reaching out to ask for help—whether it’s a small donation or sharing our story, anything would mean the world to us. Your support would help cover the costs of hospital stays, food, transportation, pet care, and childcare for Lara and Saxon. Most importantly, it would help us focus on what truly matters: being there for Savannah as she fights through this incredibly painful journey.
