Would you ever expect to be having the time of your life on vacation and then all of a sudden you receive a phone call that makes your world come crashing down?
On Sunday, May 7, 2017, my oldest brother left me a voicemail, but me being me, I didn't listen to it and just called my brother back. Calling back I would have never thought I would hear the words that my little brother was involved in a motorcycle accident and is battling for his life right now.
Immediately I began to pray, pray for our past loved ones to be with him, for my angels to be with him, and for all good energy with love be surrounded by him. Letting my brother know it was not his time, and I would be on my way soon, just wait for me to get home.
I would never expect to see my brother in that condition. He was not himself. Hooked up on 11 different types of drugs. Head swollen due to internal brain bleeding and pressure building. The human brain shouldn't have any pressure in the head above 20, my brother's chart read 50. There was absolutely nothing the doctors could do. My family had exhausted all options. We accepted that it was his time...
My little brother Kadeem was only 23 years old.
He had just gotten out of prison at the age of 21 (due to hanging with the wrong crowd).
Has his first newborn child on the way (it's a girl btw!)
Started to have a steady income coming in to provide for his new family.
Was actually on the way to becoming a man.
I was proud of my brother. It was the first time I saw him in a way as not "my annoying little brother who is always fucking up" (lol) But my brother was strong, it's funny I always thought I was the strongest person in my family, but it's always been him. He is my rock, but I am his keeper.
And I am here sharing our story with you all in hopes to help me with his funeral arrangements and medical bills. I did tell you guys he was always fucking up, so of course he did not have health insurance (lol) Also, with my little brother being so young, my family hadn't purchased life insurance for him as well.
So now we are here where I am reaching out to our community to help me during my family's time of need. Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated!
My brother was fearless.
He lived life.
That's all he wanted to do, was just live life.
And we will always continue to live life through Kadeem.
