So, my sister Jillian spent the month of September raising awareness for childhood cancer. The treatments for these cancers are insane with terrible side effects.

On October 9, we learned that Savannah has leukemia. This was caused by doxorubicin, aka the red devil, one of the three chemo meds she took to beat osteosarcoma.

We are not okay. We are angry and scared. How can this happen? How does one medication that killed cancer cause a different type of cancer?

She will go to the OR on October 10 to have a double lumen central line placed and then be admitted for ONE MONTH for her first round of chemo.

We are filled with anger and despair. My sister’s baby has to fight this monster for the second time in her short life.

We will need help. We will need prayers and support and all of the things.

Jillian is in shock. She feels like she is watching this life from somewhere else.

Jillian and Savannah will be inpatient for one month at a time. Jillian will not be able to work during this time and Savannah doesn’t like hospital food. If you feel inclined to help us battle this monster again, we would benefit from gift cards for DoorDash, Uber Eats, CVS, and Whole Foods.
