In July of 2025, my friend Savannah visited the emergency room for some issues regarding her wisdom teeth removal. A couple of hours and a CT scan later, she was told there is a mass in her brain and to follow up with neurology.
At the beginning of the following month, she met with a neurologist at Mayo Clinic who sent her for an MRI to confirm what they thought was an epidermoid cyst on her right cerebellar point. The MRI confirmed the diagnosis, which then sent Savannah to neurosurgery where they concluded that they needed to remove the cyst before symptoms worsened.
Currently, the symptoms she is experiencing are right-sided facial numbness, chronic headaches, and tinnitus in her right ear. The cyst covering the T5-T7 nerves is responsible for these symptoms, but Savannah just never thought much of it. The growth of the cyst is slow but also rapid, not knowing how long it has been there, but the bigger it gets, the worse the symptoms could be.
We are fundraising to help cover the medical expenses for Savannah's surgery and recovery.
