Savannah Kate is waiting for her new heart!

Our daughter, Savannah Wooten, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) which is a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) where the left side of the heart doesn’t fully form. This causes her heart to not be able to pump blood to the lungs which prevents oxygenated blood from flowing through her body.

We knew when she was born that she would need a heart transplant at some point but weren’t sure when that time would be. Three years and two open heart surgeries later, that time has finally arrived. She has passed all of the necessary requirements and is now a patient at Levine’s Children’s Hospital in Charlotte where she will remain until a heart becomes available that is a match for her.

To see her out of the hospital, you wouldn’t know of her condition as she is a normal, happy three year old. She enjoys building legos, playing Barbie’s, watching Bluey and playing with her sisters (Charlotte-7 and Bristol-2).

Any help provided would be greatly appreciated as we continue this journey to getting her a new heart and watching her flourish in the future.
