Savannah Bree's HLHS Journey
Donation protected
Hi, friends and family; I am starting this GoFundMe for one of the most special persons in my life. I'm doing this for my sister, Laura, my brother-in-law, Shaun Seaman and their son
Theo. And most importantly for Baby Savannah Bree.
Savannah's HLHS Journey.
When Laura was 20 Weeks pregnant, they found out Savannah had a heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, where the left side of the heart does not develop. The treatment for this would be a series of 3 open heart surgeries within the first 3 years of life. Savannah was born on July 18, 2022. She had her first surgery when she was 2 days old. She had a cardiac arrest when she was 1 week old and had to be put on ECMO support for a few days. The trauma from the cardiac arrest caused multiple strokes and a brain bleed. At 3 weeks old, Savannah had another surgery to repair her tricuspid valve on the right side of the heart(her good side). Since then, she had made slow and steady progress.
Thursday, September 29th, early morning, Savannah Bree lost her pulse again.
Vanderbilt Children's Hospital PCICU staff did CPR for 1 and 1/2 hours before getting Savannah on ECMO once again. The doctors have since then confirmed that there is not enough brain activity to continue with life due to being down that long, and they will be withdrawing life support.
I am asking for support during this most tragic time of despair for help for the Seaman Family to have adequate grieving time, mental health time, and time to heal in the most comfortable way they can.
The Seaman family deserves time to grieve, process, and heal properly and healthily.
Before Savannah Bree was born, these two parents have prepared, planned, made sacrifices, and put on their armor, ready to fight side by side with their daughter for the long haul. God had other plans for this beautiful angel.
There isn't much I can do to help my sister and brother-in-law except this; I can try to help make the next several months to come be as comfortable as possible. So, I ask,
if you are led to do so, please leave a donation to help with time off from work, funeral and medical expenses, and any other need they may have. I also ask that you share this link to help it reach as many friends and family as we can. Thanks, truly, from all our hearts. #HLHS #SavannahBree
