I have had the privilege of being Savannah's best friend since we were in 4th grade at Westside elementary. Through the years she has been nothing but a selfless, hardworking not only friend but mother. She has been a successful small business owner all while being a single mother raising two beautiful kids, asking the world for no favors as she accomplishes her dreams. To add to her plate she is also a full time student pursuing her dream to help others by becoming a social worker. Her life turned upside down on July 31st after a revision airway procedure went wrong. Her Lungs collapsed and in order to give her body a break it was in her best interest to put her on a ventilator. She continues to fight so hard to stay alive, scaring us all coding the morning of 8/2. Septic from infection, she is alive, she is stable, vented and remains in ICU. There is talks of more surgery(s) specifically a costly tracheal resection due to tracheal stenosis and of course a long hospital stay with additional tests and scans. While she is taking steps every minute to improve her condition, she has a long road ahead of her. This go fund me is to help ease the burden of medical costs, travel expenses and of course loss of wages while she is focused on recovering.
