Update 1/7/26: Unfortunately, yesterday didn’t go as expected. Savanna was unable to have surgery due to her potassium levels being very high. Instead, she received a round of dialysis treatment and surgery has been postponed until further notice. As of this morning Savanna will be moved to the ICU because her sugar is at a dangerously high level and won’t come down even after 40 units of insulin (remember she is also diabetic) she will be put on an insulin drip while in the ICU in efforts to bring her levels back to normal range. If you have reached out to Savanna directly please know she is physically and mentally exhausted and may not respond. She thanks you all for your kindness and prayers. We will keep you all updated as more information is available.

Update 1/6/2026: As you all know from the last update, Savanna was admitted to the hospital on 12/23. They have removed her chest catheter (where she receives dialysis from) because it was clogged and caused two infection, one of which is in her blood. They have placed a temporary right femoral dialysis catheter. In order to treat the blood infection, this requires a minimum 8 weeks of IV antibiotics. During the last few weeks more cardiac test were preformed after finding a clot near Savanna’s heart and it has been determined she will also be sent home with a “life vest” which acts as a defibrillator on the outside of her body. If she has any miss-beats or any problems with her heart, the life vest will give her a shock and notify the doctor. From that point, she will be needing a permanent defibrillator or a pacemaker placed in her chest because as of today, her heart function has dropped down to 35%. This morning around 9am Savanna will be having another surgery performed to remove the right femoral catheter and have it placed in her left upper chest. If all goes well and this catheter functions properly she can continue to do dialysis treatments in the comfort of her own home instead of having to go in center for 4+ hours three times or more a week. The last 2 weeks has really taken a toll on her body and she is still very tired and weak. She has been gifted a walker but is still in need of an electric scooter for mobility and making it easier to get around. As always, thank you for your continued support. We will update you all once more information is available. Please continue to keep Savanna and her family in your prayers.

UPDATE 12/24/2025: Since Savnnas last update in November, she was released back home from CCH and told there was nothing else they could do to get the fluid down and they discharged her. She then went to Advent on 11/25/25 and they did chest x ray and determined that she will eventually need surgery to repair the lining in her lungs or they will continue filling with fluid. In the meantime they treated this with Talc Pleurodesis which is a powder they put in her lung to bind it back together to the lining of her chest. As of YESTERDAY 12/23/2025 Savanna was admitted to the hospital. Her port she receives dialysis through is 100% blocked and she hasn’t had treatment in a week. Due to this she has low oxygen levels and high white blood cell count and is very lethargic. It was discovered that her catheter line is actually infected and she needs a whole new one. Today they will be doing surgery to remove and replace her port. Savanna is also experiencing extreme weakness and can no longer walk or stand on her own at this time. She is tryin to invest in a walker and scooter to help keep her mobile. Please keep Savanna in your continued thoughts and prayers. We are wishing you all a happy holidays and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the gratitude and support you have shown her In this challenging year.

11/13/2025: Savanna had tests and cultures completed and all results came back negative for infection. Savanna had another thoracentesis (needle poke) done and they were able to get 200 cc of fluid out. Savanna is now currently waiting to talk to the doctor and determine what’s next. There is possibility for a chest tube because the fluid is locked in different pockets in her lung. Savanna is currently in a lot of pain just by doing everyday things such as taking deep breaths, yawning and coughing. We will update you all as we know more.

On 9/10/2025 Savanna received her dialysis equipment at home and has been giving herself home treatments successfully. Last Wednesday savanna underwent a necessary dental procedure where she had her top teeth extracted and a denture put in, this was necessary in order to be put on the transplant lists. On Sunday 11/9/2025 Savanna was admitted to the hospital with fluid on her lungs. They took out 1.8 L of fluid on Monday from her back with a thoracentesis (needle poke). Savanna has really bad vertigo and shortness of breath. The medical team hasn’t figured out the vertigo factor yet. She is currently getting antibiotics, fluids, albumin, pain meds, and nausea meds to help keep her as comfortable as possible. While in the hospital Savanna had a treatment of dialysis. The medical team wants to do a CT scan of her face with dye, and that would require another dialysis treatment afterwards to remove the dye. Today Savanna’s white blood cell count is elevated since yesterday even being on antibiotics for the last two days. It could be infectious pneumonia, or it could go all the way to an infection in her mouth. Savanna’s oxygen was also low so she was hooked up to oxygen until last night. Savanna is now awaiting to be see by infectious disease to see what the next steps are. They want to do the CT scan tonight to make sure that there’s no infection going to her jawbone as well from the dental procedure last week. We will updates coming as we know more. Thank you all for your continued prayers for our strong girl

7/28/25 Recent updates on Savanna:

Savanna recently had to take a trip to hospital to get her catheter for dialysis looked at due to the blood not returning when attempting treatment. After several tries they were able to run her dialysis treatment on a low speed and it managed to work. Savanna is in the process of getting a dialysis machine installed to be able to receive treatment in the comfort of her own home. She has been going to training 4 days a week to get familiarized with working the machine and giving her self treatments. The plan is to have a machine by then end of August. There is a 14% higher chance of getting an organ if the home dialysis is successful because it shows you’re going take care of yourself after you get the transplant and take care of the organ. Savanna’s nurse manager at the kidney center said they have seen patients get a call as early as eight week after training for at home care for a transplant before they even had to get the machine in their home (we are crossing our fingers Savanna experience is similar) although we are still far from the home stretch we are making strides of progress. Once Savanna is cleared from her doctors she can be added to the transplant lists. Todays latest update (7/28/2025) Savanna went to the dentist today and was informed due to her health issues her dental situation has changed drastically. She will now need dentures. She was fitted for impressions today. She will also have to be cleared by the dentist in order to get transplants so this step is very critical in her process to recovery. She has managed to obtain insurance but unfortunately it is covering very little of these medical expenses. Right now she is just trying to stay afloat. Dialysis is draining and she is extremely exhusted and weak while trying to still be a mom In the process and keeping Kai’s life as normal as possible attending school and playing football. There are several local businesses accepting donations towards Savanna’s treatment. There will also be a fundraiser on August 24th at 2pm located at the Island Waterfront Bar and Grill. I will add then Link below to the event & info:

5/5/2025 update: Savanna was released from the hospital as planned on 4/19/25. She began outpatient dialysis while waiting for the next steps with Advent. Savanna started experiencing fluid buildup again in her body and monitored it over the last 2 weeks. On Friday 5/2/25 Savanna had an episode where she was found nearly unconscious with an extremely dangerous blood sugar level of 950. She was immediately admitted back into the hospital and her sugar then dropped to 28 (very low). After being admitted doctors also discovered that Savanna has pneumonia from fluid that has entered her lungs. Today (5/5/25) Savanna received dialysis this morning at the hospital where they were able to release 4 Liters of fluid. Then after that she had a thoracentesis done where they removed another liter of fluid from her chest cavity through a needle in her back.
She still has pneumonia that's being treated with antibiotics but is finally feeling relief because she can breathe and take deep breaths again. We will keep you posted as more updates come. As always, thank you for the continued prayers and support as Savanna navigates through these obstacles.

4/19/2025 Update:
Earlier this week Savanna got her heart catheter put in, at that time they discovered she had an 80% blockage. Due to the outcome she had to have a stent placed in her artery to help clear the blockage. Within the last week Savanna has undergone multiple rounds of dialysis to get her kidneys to a healthy point to where they will be able to release her. Today we got great news that she is going to be released after a long 24 day stay in the hospital. Starting next week Savanna will continue to receive outpatient dialysis and start the process of getting evaluations done with Advent for the transplant process. She was also unable to move forward with her disability claim with the state until she was released from the hospital. Although being released is a huge stepping stone, Savanna still has a long road ahead of her. We will continue to update you all as we know more. As always, thank you for your continued prayers and support during this time.

4/7/2025 Update:
Today Savanna will undergo a procedure to add a temporary port to her jugular where she will begin receiving dialysis through. She will need to have another procedure to add a port to her arm for future dialysis treatments however that will take up to 6 months to cure into her body. In the meantime, treatment will be given through the temporary port they are adding today. Savanna will be receiving 3 rounds of dialysis this week while in the hospital and if all goes as planned hopefully be released at the end of the week. She will then start searching for a hospital for her needed transplants. She plans to seek help from Advent Health in Orlando as we learned that they do accept her insurance. This is just the beginning to a long road of procedures, doctors and hospital visits. Savanna is still waiting to hear from the state for her disability claim and currently has no income at this time. Continuous prayers and support are greatly appreciate. We will continue to update you all as we know more.

Savanna is one of the most selfless people I know and is always going out of her way to help others even if that means putting herself last. This time the tables have turned and she needs our help more than ever. She has faced some major health issues over the last few years and has been unable to work. She recently got diagnosed with kidney failure and congestive heart failure and the doctors said the next steps for her is to undergo a triple transplant procedure including her heart, kidneys and pancreas. Savanna has been struggling with getting approved for disability from the state and unfortunately, the hospital that can conduct this procedure doesn’t accept her insurance. Anything will help at this point! All proceeds will go towards her medical cost and caring for her son. We will share updates as they come. Thank you for being there for her during this challenging time.
