Eric Sauser: Fighting Leukemia Fund
Donation protected
Eric Sauser is a husband and father of three children under 10 . He enjoys being active and cheering on his kids at their various activities. He is always one of the first people to raise his hand and help whenever it is needed.
In March 2019, Eric started having a hard time catching his breath. His wife, Crystal, urged him to see a doctor. In April, he was diagnosed with a type of leukemia that won’t allow him to work during treatment. His official diagnosis is myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), more specifically RAEB2 with a TP3 gene mutation. Updates will be posted as often as possible on Eric's Caring Bridge Website .
Eric had a bone marrow biopsy in mid-June and we have recently received the amazing news that he is in remission and cancer free!!! This means Eric can go to transplant any time in the next couple weeks (between the end of June and beginning of July). They have to move super quick in this process because the type of cancer Eric has will not stay in remission long. There is still a chance we will need to bridge the gap between now and transplant with a low dose chemo but that all depends on the timing of the donor.
Going to transplant means Eric will be in the hospital for approximately 4-6 weeks. While this will be an extremely tough time for the entire family, they are hopeful this is exactly what they need to kick this for good.
The Sausers are so thankful for everyone's love and support; thank you for considering a donation to this amazing family. The outpouring of well wishes for strength and healing have been incredible. Every offer for assistance is received and so appreciated. Please continue to keep the Sauser family in your thoughts and send all the positive vibes you can their way.
This GoFundMe page has been created to assist the Sauser family with medical, household, and childcare expenses. If you would prefer to support them by providing a dinner, please visit the family's Meal Train page to sign up for a day!
