Sauk County Deer Carcass Dumpster Fundraiser
Donación protegida
Your support of this program is amazing! With our previous goal we are able to fund 2 dumpsters, but we have a goal of at least 6 dumpsters in Sauk County. So we are raising our goal! As a part of the best management practices when dealing with chronic wasting disease (CWD) in whitetail deer, proper disposal of deer carcass is a top priority to prevent the spread of CWD to new areas. A major push for a deer carcass dumpster program was implemented in 2018, primarily in Wisconsin’s Sauk & Richland Counties. Ten dumpsters were placed in those two counties last deer season, completely funded through private donations. There is currently a push for funding from the state of Wisconsin; unfortunately that will not be available to help until potentially 2020. For the 2019 hunting season we are hoping to offset costs for sporting clubs and conservation groups who understand that this dumpster program is a great thing to help keep deer carcasses from being left in ditches and on public lands.
