Sauer & Josie Balderian's Fight Against Covid-19
Donation protected

My name is Jois Rachelle Balderian. My siblings and I created this GoFundMe for our dear parents, Sauer and Josie Balderian, who are both currently battling COVID-19.
Our parents left for the Philippines after the holidays to visit an ailing close relative. They were due to come back to California late March, unfortunately, they both started experiencing flu symptoms and were rushed to the hospital last March 23rd. The hospital immediately tested them for COVID-19 but were sent back home due to the hospital's full capacity. Their health further deteriorated so they brought themselves back to the hospital last March 26th. The devastating test results came yesterday, March 29th, confirming that both my parents are positive for COVID-19.
They are both confined at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa, Philippines. Our parents are both 76 years old and have other underlying medical conditions making them high risk patients. Sadly, they have not seen each other since they arrived at the hospital as they needed to be in isolation. This has been very difficult for both of them because after 48 years of marriage, this is the first time they have been separated. It is very heartbreaking for us because we all live in the US and no one can be with them during this trying times. In as much as we would like to physically be with them, we are unable to fly due to the travel ban and quarantine restrictions.
Unfortunately, all these hospital charges are deemed “self pay” as their US health insurance is not accepted in the Philippines. We were hoping that their insurance would help in the enormous and already mounting bills that are, to this date, estimated to exceed $50,000. We have already reached out to our relatives and friends but the funds we have received is still not enough to cover the increasing amount of their treatments. We have also reached out to the US Embassy for any available programs they may qualify for but to no avail. Our family is reaching out to you to kindly help us carry this insurmountable financial burden of paying for the medical bills ranging from the ambulance, ER, hospital stays, and all the medical procedures necessary for their treatment.
It pains us to see our parents in this dreadful situation knowing that their whole lives have been dedicated to helping others and making an impact in people's lives. Our family is united in doing everything we can to save them and bring them back home safely.
We understand that the whole world is suffering from this unthinkable health and economic crisis. We are knocking on your generous hearts to help us achieve our goal so our parents may have the chance to beat this disease. Any amount will be greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. We would still like to see them succeed in this battle and fly back here in the US to be with their children and grandchildren.
Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
Sincerely,
Joseph, Jennifer, Jois and Jericho Balderian
