On Thursday August 11, 2022, the most insane unthinkable event happened to us. Lightening struck our home and caused a fire. Thank God we had decided to take our children to their grandparents that evening last minute. And thank God all of our pets were rescued in time by firefighters. It terrifies us to think of what could have happened to our family had we been there. We thank God we still have each other. We woke up without a home, but are blessed that our 5 children and pets are alive and unharmed.
Our hearts still hurt and are heavy to know that we have such a long road ahead of us. There's so much damage from the smoke, fire, water, ceilings being broken, insulation everywhere, first story & second story. It's literally a disaster.
To make things even harder on our children, school starts on Monday, August 15 and now we have to have to start over as a majority of their belongings were damaged.
We have worked so hard in life to provide a good and honest life for our family. My husband served in the military for 5 years and fought in Iraq and lived through his service so we could build a life together. We have always done everything we can to help others, but we are not ones to really ask for help. Given the devastation this has caused our family and hardship our children will have to work through having lost their safe place, we humbly ask that anyone who can help to please donate to help us through this long road until we finally are able to have a new place to call home.
Please pray or send positive thoughts our way.
Thank you for all your love, prayers, donations, and messages. We love each and every one of you.
