SAU19 Remote Learning Device Drive

Education is one of the critical pillars of our democracy and access to it is foundational to the American Dream. This pandemic has resulted in a number of huge challenges for out local Goffstown/New Boston district and they have done an incredible job supporting the students and families in a really challenging time.
One of the things that we learned during the Facebook Live Q&A session with the SAU19 staff was that there will be a continued need for remote learning devices (Chromebooks) for the foreseeable future. They're table stakes whether parents/families choose the remote learning option or if they opt for the hybrid option that has remote learning days through the school week. Many families are fortunate enough to be able to provide these devices to all of their children that need them...many are not so fortunate. I'm asking us to come together as a community to help get these necessary devices into their hands to remove just one more barrier for them in already trying times.
I'm asking for $8,000 for the purchase of 20 Asus 11.6" Wifi enables Chromebooks. This particular model was designed for school usage and are "ruggedized" with a spill resistant keyboard and rubber edges to handle accidental drops. I also included a 2 year warranty for each machine to handle cracked screens, tech issues etc.
The total bundle comes out to $7659.60 with the protection package included. I'm including an overage of $340.40 incase availability changes between now and the time the campaign ends that requires me to select a different machine. Any difference between the funded amount and the cost of the machines will be used for peripherals (mice, mouse pad, headphones etc.).
