India is the second largest populated country in the world. There are many poor families across the country. There are many poor children who have nowhere to go and are supported by orphanages that don't have enough facilities to take care of the kids properly.
A couple of years ago during our winter break, my family and I visited an orphanage in Meerut, India. Since it was winters, we donated new hats and we provided them with a hot meal.
Most orphanages rely on donations and contributions from citizens to support the kids, their education, meals, clothing and health care.
The orphanage that I visited in Meerut was called Satyakam Seva Samiti. This orphanage was particularly for boys suffering from a terminal disease. Boys in the orphanage. There were about 10 kids in the facility aged between 6 and 12.
The room was dusty, other than the area in which they slept in. Their beds were made. The kids wished me a happy birthday. They also made a card for me and it was all so well done. We passed out the hats and served them a meal.
I noticed that the adults who took care of them also taught them what they would learn in school. I saw an alphabet chart and some text books on a shelf.
I wish to generate funds to help the members of the orphanage to help them provide better helathcare, clothing and meals for the kids.
