On October 6th, Satoru Avery passed away at the age of 73.

Satoru was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer at the beginning of 2022 and made a valiant fight. After nearly 5 months in the hospital, he passed peacefully and is free from pain.

We recognize his service in the Army and the impact that his exposure to Agent Orange had on his diagnosis and well-being.

Although Satoru will be deeply missed, his family is comforted by Satoru's hope in heaven and the love he left behind.

Satoru will be remembered for his lengthy stories, delicious Japanese curry, fierce love for his family, and his faith in God.

Satoru truly valued taking care of others, and any financial support for his wife, as she prepares for a funeral and burial would be an excellent way of honoring his memory.

We know many of you share in the love we had for Satoru and the grief we have at his loss, and are grateful for the role you played in his life and ours.
